INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Barbershop singing that is.....this year it was held in Cleveland. Our chorus competes several times a year in hopes to improve our scores and get that coveted medal. This year we made the cut and were on our way to sing on the International stage. Some of us went a few days early to take advantage of seeing the city. Cleveland is an up and coming city all about music. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must visit. The next few days we rehearsed a bit more and then watched other competitors- both quartets and choruses. The venue holds 10 to 13 thousand people and it was almost full every day. Singers all, it was electric with bonded pride and the joy of singing with the best in the world.

We sang the very last day and unfortunately our scores weren't so great. Good news, we didn't come in last place. And looking at this photo below, we looked so small and vulnerable on that great big stage. BUT....just being there was worth the whole visit.
